Who We Like
I thought I’d create a page where we could list the musicians we liked or who most influenced our music.
Brett’s fav a cappella groups would be
- Idea of North - I saw them live in Brisbane and was just blown away by their vocal virtuosity (I’m registering that name - no its taken). I fell even more in love when they came up to the coast to run a workshop for Battle of the Choirs and they stayed at my motel (shameless plug here Tweed Vegas Motel)
- The Blenders - I love the early a cappella albums “Totally Whipped” and “From the Mouth”, they were my second a cappella heroes.
- Cadence is a more recent love of mine. Inhumanly tight. Are they augmented or are they just that good. Who cares!
- Isabella Acappella - I borrowed a CD from the library by chance and discovered these guys. The first time I heard the a cappella version of “And so it goes”. I’m still wracked by guilt over not returning that CD.
- The Blenders Chorus - I have to credit Barbershop and the Blenders Chorus on the Gold Coast for reinforcing my love of singing. I have sung and heard many fine arrangements through the chorus and it’s affiliated quartets.
